The Basics
Wordyz is a daily word puzzle game where you solve three words that share a common category. Each day at midnight (your local time), a new puzzle becomes available for everyone around the world.
Unlike other word games, Wordyz uses a funnel system: you start with a 5-letter word, then progress to a 6-letter word, and finally tackle a 7-letter word. All three words are connected by a theme or category that's revealed at the start.
Game Rules
1. Read the Category
Before you start guessing, you'll see a category hint at the top of the puzzle. This tells you what connects all three words. For example, if the category is "Kitchen Items," all three words will be things you'd find in a kitchen.
2. Guess the Words
Type your guess using the on-screen keyboard or your device's keyboard. Each guess must be a valid English word of the correct length. Press Enter to submit your guess.
- 5-Letter Word: You get 6 attempts to solve this word
- 6-Letter Word: Unlocks after solving the 5-letter word (6 attempts)
- 7-Letter Word: Unlocks after solving the 6-letter word (6 attempts)
3. Understand the Colors
After each guess, the tiles change color to show how close you are:
Blue The letter is in the word AND in the correct position.
Orange The letter is in the word but in the wrong position.
Gray The letter is not in the word at all.
Strategy Tips
Start Smart
Your first guess should use common letters (like E, A, R, S, T) to gather maximum information. But also consider the category—if it's "Fruits," starting with APPLE or GRAPE makes more sense than a random word.
Use Process of Elimination
Pay attention to gray letters—they're eliminated from all positions. Orange letters tell you a letter exists but not where. Use this information strategically.
Think in Categories
The three words are related. If you've solved the 5-letter word "KNIFE" and the category is "Kitchen Items," think about 6-letter kitchen items next. This contextual thinking is what makes Wordyz unique.
Pro Tip: Use the Category!
The category is your biggest advantage. If you know the theme is "Ocean Life," you can eliminate thousands of words that don't fit. Think about what words match the category before making random guesses.
Daily Reset
A new puzzle is available every day at midnight. Everyone in the world plays the same puzzle, so you can compare your results with friends without spoiling the answers. Simply share your score grid (without revealing the words) on social media!
